Welcome to Dokken Dressage

Full care Board

$550/Month

Here at Dokken Dressage, I am offering full care board. Stalls are 16*16 with daily turnout. Horses are fed 4 flakes of Alfalfa and Bermuda hay per day to ensure the optimal nutritional intake. Additional hay may be provided at an additional cost. I also feed 1Lb Ration Balancer. Supplements and grain, purchased by the owner, may be added to their feeding schedules. Our property features a large green pasture, a dirt turnout, a standard arena, a tack room, and a wash rack.

Single Sesson

$50-60 Session

I offer lessons at an affordable rate and each session is one on one so that each student gets my full attention. I can teach Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Barrel Racing, and many other disciplines. Sessions are 1 hour but it can vary based on the horses/riders needs. Minimum Age Requirement is 7 years old. By building a partnership between horse and rider, you can master any equestrian sport you set your mind to.

Training

$444-$888/Month

This is a specialized training package for horses that are not yet at riding age or that only work in hand. Liberty work is also a great option for building trust and refining your groundwork. My prices allow clients a little breathing room by bundling sessions together based on the days requested. The more sessions I perform a week, the higher the cost. Each session is about 45 minutes and is tailored to meet whatever goals have been set.

Training(Undersaddle)

$564-$1,128/Month

Training Undersaddle is bundled much in the same way as my general package, so prices will vary depending on how many sessions I perform a week. It will include horsemanship lessons if I feel it is necessary to the horses’ progress. Most of my focus in theses sessions will be on the unspoken language between horse and rider while in the saddle. The duration of these sessions will be an hour but may be shortened for the needs of the horse/rider. The minimum requirement for a monthly package is 3 days a week.

About the owner/manager Chelyn Dokken

Hello, my name is Chelyn Firenz. I grew up riding and working around horses with from a very young age. I landed my first industry job at 13 working as assistant manager at Mississippi View Farms in Minnesota. It was at this time that I discovered the means to operate a boarding facility and established an understanding of caring for a horses every needs. When I turned 14, I began a new position as an assistant trainer at the same facility. Four more years passed, during which I trained young horses, leading them on to experience their first milestones and exposing them to the competition world. At age 18, Esther Buenano asked me to come work for him at his facility called Tempel Lipizzan’s in Illinois. Starting out as a working student, I advanced through their ranks for another 4 years until I sought to expand my showmanship with Andrianna Patzwold. I traveled on my own between Wisconsin and Illinois searching for clinics to expand my knowledge and garner diversity. I even worked clinics with Conrad Schumacher, Andreas Hausberger, Lendon Gray, and Carole Grant. Having dabbled in every discipline, I yearned to have a business of my own. I made the decision to move to Arizona late 2023 and have been building my reputation since. My boarding facility offers a professional training program with top quality care and affordable training rates. My passion for this industry stems from my love for these amazing animals. I will always put the horses welfare at the top of my priorities. There is no greater gratification than seeing the progress my students and horses make together.
